After nearly three years of careful preparation, m2a3 mockup is ready for Y2K. Taking a methodical approach to this problem, expects to have all systems ready for the next millennium by the middle of November 1999.

Entering the closing stages in its m2a3 mockup strategy, the command set up a special operations center, the m2a3 mockup Center of Transition Operations Cell (TOC), to monitor worldwide events related to
ITS rollovers.
At the start of the new millennium, leaders will be able to visualize impacts of as the command transitions operations at the end of the year.
As part of its plans for this, a " m2a3 mockup watch team" of experts will staff the TOC and facilitate the flow of information. They will monitor incidents command-wide for the year-end period covering Dec. 30, 1999, until Jan. 4, 2000.
Because the year 2000 also is a leap year, the Watch Team will man the TOC to keep a watchful eye on the situation for any glitches from Feb. 28, 2000 and March 1, 2000.
The TOC monitored events during September 1999, known as "Quad 9" because of the numerical date 9/9/99, and the rollover between fiscal years 1999 and 2000 on Oct. 1, 1999. No problems were identified. Team leaders believe the experience gained during both operations was good preparation for the main event at year-end.
T
he Watch Team faces several key tasks during transition operations which include monitoring global events; detecting and identifying any ITS failures at
the sites; rapidly responding to correct or mitigate those failures; and
analyzing and detecting trends and disseminating information relating to
ITS incidents.
Transition operations herald the completion of efforts that began in 1996. In a five-phased approach to ITS (Inventory, Assess, Remediate, Validate and Implement), successfully renovated 99.9 percent of its more than 914,000 computer systems. The few remaining systems are scheduled to be fixed by mid-November 1999. planners will measure the success of their
preparations by the ability of the systems throughout the command to maintain m2a3 mockup
operational capabilities, minimize disruptions to installations' computer systems, and the rapid exchange of information that should help
reassure subordinate installations that is under control for m2a3 mockup
