The reaction to it across the internet is a mixure of revolution controller mockup . Hardly anybody expected a remote-style controller. Even we at GAF who have mysterious powers that allow us to see into the future did not foresee this strange iPod-like device. But we are going to tentatively say we like it.

The potential is there so long as the game-makers are able to use it well in execution. But revolution controller mockup debating the merits of the concept of the controller is really for another discussion. Today, what we are here to talk about is the Revolution controller's ability to plug into accessories. Sadly, including a lack of game footage, we only got a glimpse at a single accessory, the analog stick. That's great and all, but we weren't satisfied. The Revolution controller clearly has potential for a truckload of accessories, bad and good, and we have no doubt that Nintendo, third party developers, and third party hardware makers will use and abuse this ability.

To give you a preview of what we think the accessories may end up looking like, we put together a number of [poorly done] mock-ups to show you a few accessories, some that we would consider essential and awesome, and some that we did just because we're weird like that. Let's begin with what we know Nintendo will be giving us. This accessory has a standard analog stick along with two shoulder buttons. We suspect this will ship with every Revolution and be available for purchase separately for when folks lose them (or break them). We also suspect this will be used in games for the more hardcore crowd. Nintendo is likely to try to make the more mainstream games focus on the use of the controller alone because it keeps the learning curve down. "Classic" revolution controller mockup We were going to do a mock-up of this because Nintendo didn't demo it at the keynote, but IGN did a great job thanks to having a graphics team with leet photoshop skills. So we'll show you theirs. It's probably very close to what we will be getting. They made it nearly identical to the WaveBird and that's probably what we're going to get. We suspect (hope) Nintendo ships this with every Revolution. The rest of the images on here were created by GAF Labs (me).

Yes, we know Nintendo showed the controller on its own doing a fishing game. But we remember Sega Bass Fishing and its special controller with the reel and we feel this small accessory would add so much more to the Revolution fishing experience. Plus, what would it cost them to package it? 10 cents? revolution controller mockup We have now departed the 10 cent range and gone into the $100 range. Some Xbox owners and fans may remember Steel Battalion ( Japan), the ginormous three panel mech controller with foot pedals. It's the closest I've seen to being able to pilot in a game.

In our mock-up, we just threw the Revolution controller onto the right stick, which controls the top part of the mech. We don't necessarily feel Steel Battalion would be the ideal Revolution controller, but we wouldn't mind getting some-styled love in the accessory department. Perhaps Virtual On sticks? Or perhaps Virtual On can be done with simply two controllers on their own revolution controller mockup
