The main day of presentations at vis mockup involves all the key players in the CAD industry. As stated in my first
installment, PTC chose not to present at Daratech this year mainly due to
vis mockup dominating presence - by having so many companies and CEO's giving keynotes, the story goes that PTC felt this unbalanced and so did not attend the conference.

While the CEO Keynotes are the time for selling the successes of
the companies over the previous year, one often gets insights
into current developments and future strategy and product. This
year didn't disappoint. The big new news was that it was setting
up a more formal consulting division. he said, "In the past much
of our support and consulting was done by our dealer partners.
In the last several years our customers have really asked us to
consult directly with them, to help them understand how to get
more productivity, how to run the process. So we had already
started to work with some of our major customers.
We aren't going in against the theme." One begs the question who will be competing against? Their own dealers?
The format follows a standard 20 minute or so speech section followed by a 10 minute interview by one vis mockup. These questions tend to range in scope, sometimes helping the CEO get their current message or spin across but occasionally some 'banana skin' topics come up on more contentious issues within their company or product offering.
As I wrote so much about PLM in the first part of this article (last month), I've chosen to keep CEO and others of vis mockup to the end, which isn't the order in which they presented.
